Everything will be well

I know professor Schellong quite well, he has already been retired and earlier he worked at the department of children’s oncology of the university clinic in Muenster. I have been working as an interpreter at this department since 1993. When doctors did not want to give negative information (many of them speak Russian) they called for me to convey it. The parents began to fear the moment I appeared.
Nevertheless, they have cured and still cure many. As I have noticed it is more difficult for unbelievers to get over the sorrow rather than for those who believe in God. As time passes all of them without exception begin to believe but till it happens both parents and their children suffer.
For our people it seems strange the doctors do not hide the information about chances for life of patients. They can say that there is only 70% to survive and we have to fight for this. It is really so. And we have to trust doctors. The survival rate for patients with such diagnosis was 70% from 100%, the rest died.
Some times I had to translate messages that there were no chances for life and a child could die in 2-3 months. I translated that both to a child and his parents. Finally, there is nothing terrible – hysterics for half of an hour and then they begin prepearing for death quitely.
It is very importent to prepare for death.
I have heard that there is quite different practice in Russia. The truth is not said neither the patient nor their parents. And at the end of the dying patient’s life he see that he can not trust nobody and everyone is lying him.
It is not possible to lie to the children. They see and know everything. They feel.
It happens when those who has been recovered and discharged from hospital are forgotten and nobody knows about them . They are healthy and happy.... Thank Goodness!
Dying people... Nothing are hidden from them. They know that they will die and they are dying long enough and we had to be with them till the end...And death for them is the rescue from torments. It is right that under the drug’s effects the torments are not so hard. It is a pitty for their parents.
There are still some more mathers who are alone and they think that they are strong women. Do not relay on your courage! From the beginning of the disease find mather, father, aunt, grandfather to whom you can go after the 15 hours long meeting with child and cry. The rest parents do not leave such “strong” women alone!
Besides, there is a great zeal from the beginning. The treatment has to continue for many months and parents from the first week decide to sleep only 4 hours a day. In the couple weeks they do not bear such difficulties. The result – the complex of the guilt. “Have I done everything?” Such stresses do not lead parents by the right way, they take away all possibilities to help the child within those weeks when this help was especially in need.
It was said to me that there are terrible coditions in Russia but there also cure. Who has to die – die in Germany, moreover, the treatment’s cost here is about 100,000 DM (sometimes to no purpose). God has given – God has taken. We live temporarily and the life is mortal and always has death. You can do nothing if you have to die. I know many cases when the patients suffering from canser died from ordinary infarct because they were very worrying that they would die.
Lord and Regina of Heavens blesses you all!
Everything go more easy with trust to God.
